We focus on product development with customers at our innovation centers in Boxmeer and Des Moines, as well as events designed to demonstrate specific products or processes for targeted partners from the food processing industry.
Customers come to our innovation centers to see for themselves how Marel equipment and software can turn out end products that fully satisfy their requirements.
Co-creation with customers
We make it possible for customers to come and explore new ideas for products at our innovation centers.
Working with our technology in a simulated plant environment, food processors collaborate with our specialists to develop new products and improve existing ones. They can bring their own raw materials or have our staff locally source the products needed.
At the end of the session, we use our demo kitchen to test and taste the newly developed products. Developing products in this way is an exciting act of co-creation that has yielded many new advances in food processing.
Demo Days
We host focused Demo Days at our innovation centers, tailored to the specific needs of a particular group of customers from the fish, meat or poultry processing industry.
These open-house events feature demonstrations of the latest technology from Marel, often focusing on a certain product or process. Food processors can stop by or make an appointment ahead of time to discuss their specific needs with Marel experts and product specialists.
Return on investment
In addition to demonstrating how our technology will improve a customer’s processing results, we can provide visitors with a digital record of the demonstrations and product trials undertaken, where we qualify the return on investment (ROI).
Seeing is believing, and while demonstrations and trials show how Marel products have a significant and positive impact on results, we also provide those results in the form of KPIs (key performance indicators) and other metrics relevant to ROI; from the increases in yield to the savings in carbon footprint
